Reading this story, I certainly would not like to lend my name to the title - one should remember that it was the year 1947, a mere two years after Germany had been pummelled into submission. No, what I find far more remarkable is that, I think, 1952 witnessed the birth of the 300B Adenauer, and probably one year later the Panamericana eight cylinder SLRs, including the Uhlenhaut version and then, of course in 1955 or 1956, the 300 Gullwing - only a handful of years after hostilities ended. If that is not achievement and miracle beyond comprehension, I don't know what is. Just think about it all, and have a careful read of the article. See if you think likewise. Regards Styria
