My H-P ScanJet is having driver software problems at the moment so I can't upload some old photos I have, but, I wonder if Des can find any pics on-line?
Back in 1979 Crayford did a soft-top conversion on The Emir Of Kuwait's red W116 350SEL.
If there are any photos out there, Des will find them.
If the car still exists, maybe Michel is the man to track it down, how good would that go next to the 690SEL?

Go for it lads!

(Meanwhile, if any software type nerds are reading and have any tips on scanners, I have downloaded all driver software for this scanner and Windows XP direct from Hewlett-Packard, but troubleshooting still tells me the scanner will only work with Windows 98........driving me nuts, may just go get a new one).

I'm feeling a bit sick and bloated after my breakfast at the casino, maybe later.

If anyone can, Des can, this one is unique, and it would be Top Car on this forum if anyone can find it.

Just breakfast, dine out for breakfast most Saturday mornings.

Who could be bothered scrubbing pots and pans after cooking all that yourself.

Sounds good, nice spot on the water, I'll be up for that next time I'm in Hobart.

You bet it is great, beacon, eggs, sausages, ham, cheese, toast, tomato, more eggs, coffee, hash browns...more coffee.

could get used to that everyday!

Des, here on the mainland we have these machines in the kitchen called dishwashers, and the kitchen is inside the house:rolleyes:

Easy on him, last time I was in Tassie I saw someone with a TV so they must have electricity too.
I found it quite charming, almost civilised, and for what passes for 'civilisation' around here, I am not sure that is progress.

Anyway, we know at least, that Des has access to a computer, and knows how to use it, so unless it is one of those old clockwork ones, the technology is there.
BTW Des, if it helps in your net trawling, there was a feature on the car in question in Autocar magazine dated December 2 1978, so I wonder if this is posted online somewhere.
If I can sort out a scanner one day, I will post it.

Well I have been down into my bunker where the servers are kept

ibm_360.jpg

No records found

I did however find a picture of a W114/5 Crayford that you were looking for some time ago

No, we already decided they are too ugly for this forum, like somone has added a lean-to on their shed. My original question was just curiosity; do any survive here?

Anyway, if Des can't find the Emir's W116 convertible, I will have to arrange something.

Yeah, that server looks older than the car in question, not a good sign.
