One of the main problems with an untouched vehicle such as this one is that oil seals and non metal suspension bushings get old with disuse and fail, irrespective of age or distance driven.

For this old girl to be put back on the road, these items will all have to be renewed. I guess she would be rather overdue for a checkup, anyway.

I really don't know what to say, especially if I am not to be derogatory in relation to the car's condition. If Bonhams reckon it's worth two and a half million, I'd hate to think what some of the cars I saw at Salzburg Classic Days would be worth nowadays. Good luck to the chappie that's going to buy it - money will obviously not be a hindrance, and it better not be, considering the amount still to be spent on this classic. Just my opinion. Regards Styria

I'm in two minds about this one. yes its great to have it like new in showroom condition but there are people who will pay a premium to find an unspoilt example. One that is still how it was built in 1928 wow.

Most likely, he (or she) who will buy it would not even dream of driving it, but rather put it somewhere (maybe private museum) and see its value appreciate.

He (or she) would be driving a new S Class or a Bentley

Hi Styria i think it will easily go past this price point . http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...away-garage-worth-1-5m.html?ito=feeds-newsxml . Only 100 Super Sports were made between 1928 & 1934 http://www.conceptcarz.com/z20308/Mercedes-Benz-710-SS.aspx . Only 40 were the SSK http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_SSK . Now the big point IT IS RIGHT HAND DRIVE. Out of a total production of 100 Super Sports from a left hand drive car making nation . A quick search i have found 4 other right hand drive Super Sports . So this will go very high indeed Styria and if Auctions like the Bugati in the lake http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ucked-lake-70-years-fetch-80-000-auction.html . It made 4 times the estimated price http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=newsarchive&sid=a4Q3wwuYrKMc . So i think this will go higher than any show concourse mercedes you saw on this day .:D
