Some wagons/estates can be very odd, but yes, these and other Benz, were designed as a wagon/estate, not a sedan turned into a wagon, which of course some looked truly odd.

Nice little project for someone. The popular thing today, is to leave the outside exactly the way it was found, and only restore mechanicals. I could live with that, it looks great.
