These tubular AMG Tri-Y extractors for M117 . Similar to what my new extractors are. Euro LHD 560 had cast versions in 300hp spec . I didn't know they were made in RHD. But going on manual air/ Non Climate I still say HK car which means dirty motor as they didn't go unleaded till much later as UK didn't want to change any rules leading up to 97 hand over. As I said all HK W126 being sold in the 90's at dealer my friend bought his from in the ACT did not have climate . And I am talking over 20 on the lot at a time. :)

Well I spent most of Saturday going through some of the cars in more detail. I now know this 560 is the high compression version as it has 'HV' stamped in the block after the engine number. It also has some weird stamping on one of the spring towers. It does have lots of sensors added, including O2, knock and what looks like ambient on the intake snorkle. God knows what's been going on along the engine pipes....

As you can see there's rust starting in some areas and the LF door is rusted out on the inside. The LR door skin is dinted along with the LH rear quarter. Paint in the engine bay looks abnormal and contaminated. The paint on the roof is stuffed and the interior is pretty sad including the seats and some areas of the woodwork. Sadly, if I put all the repairs together and considering it has no books, I don't think it's worth the time and effort to fix:

Great post Oversize.

The front leather seats are showing there age.

Poor alloys have seen better days.

Is the drivers window smashed sure does look like it is?

Looks like you going to have your hands full with the 560SEL Oversize.

What plans do you have for car Oversize?

Good luck with the 560SEL Oversize and please keep us updated in regards to the car.

Mark, thanks for a great and informative selection of pictures. It is amazing just how much one can learn simply by examining well produced photos. It would have taken you a while, and I for one certainly appreciate the time it must have taken you. Great work. Regards Styria

Yes it took all morning and that was after I'd loaded them onto the computer the night before! The whole process takes ages but can be rewarding depending on the responses.

Photobucket can be frustrating when you complete a bulk upload into a folder and it puts them in a jumbled mess.... Then you have to pick the links out one by one so they make sense in a post and hope that you don't miss any. Aaaaahhhh!

But I do find reading pics like this a lot easier since you don't have to click on individual pics to be able to appreciate them properly.
